What Customers Say About Argentina (Country Guide):

This book was as represented and arrived in a timely manner.Original listing should have included edition number. I endedup getting the same book twice due to this omission. oneedition five and one edition six. same book.

The places that recommended had better days. I have used many of Lonely planet books, and they are always accurate and informative(Italy,Costa Rica,Ireland and more). Very general description of towns and not enough information of the trip routes. This one is just bad. The prices given in the book is 30% more than real prices. It seems that most of the book were written 10 years ago, the edition must be updated. Try other Argentina guide book.

Restaurants and bus schedules often change, so it is best to observe them for yourself. I would recommend buying this book, but keep your eyes and ears open.

The many maps are extremely helpful, and the how to get there and away sections are great. Argentina is a huge and very diverse country and a guide book is very handy to have.

I have also met some of the authors, and their tight budgets and time schedules do not allow them to check out all the options. This book is also filled with lots of helpful hints like dangers and annoyances, interesting places to go, and history.

Most of the hotel recommendations have been helpful, but be aware that many people read this book, and the recommended hotels can often be full. Many of the best hotels and restaurants that I have found have been from word of mouth of other travelers, or roaming the streets.

Dancing on the Edge of an Endangered Planet

Lonely Planet can usually be relied upon to produce well written, concise and useful travel guides to destinations around the globe. This guide to Argentina appears to be another winner. you can't get there from Argentina). While I haven't used it (and so can't confirm the accuracy of the listings) it includes the usual good selection of hotels and restauants, practical information (tourist offices, laundries, local and regional travel), sites and festivals. Background information at the front of the book covers history, culture, food and music; while the 'Directory' at the back offers info on climate, getting there, health concerns, language etc.Along with Argentina, there is also a brief chapter on Uruguay (and it's quite sufficient -- Uruguay isn't very big) and one on the far southern tip of Chile (useful for travelers hoping to visit the Falklands. Lots of color pictures and maps too.Overall, an excellent choice for any traveller hoping to visit Argentina. or just dreaming about it.

There are a few pictures at the front of the book, but if you're looking for a book with a lot of pictures, then this book is not for you. Maps.

I like the way there are tabs along the edge of the book with the different areas of the country. Dining.

This book is very detailed with just an abundance of information. Transportation.

Accommodations. Sightseeing.

General Information. On the other hand, if you want to be book packed with great information, then I recommend it highly.
